The Magical Right Click

Have you ever spent more time than you wanted to navigating screens in QuickBooks. I think most of us have.
Intuit has done a nice job laying out screens and menus in an intuitive way, but there are still times when what I want escapes me. However almost invariably, by right clicking on a related screen, the task I am looking to perform is presented in the drop-down box that appears. Try it! Next time you are looking for something, just right click.

DIY, or Seek Professional Help?

I got this question from John P. over the weekend. He asks: “I currently work as a contractor, and I am about to go out on my own. I have chosen QuickBooks Premier Contractor Edition as my accounting software. Do you think I should set it up myself using the interview or seek professional help?”

Well, what do you think?

Teach Me QuickBooks

I got this question from Ashley B. from Roanoke, VA. She asks: “I am a bookkeeper from Roanoke, VA. The company I work for just switched to QuickBooks Pro 2005 from Peachtree. I am not familiar with the features of QuickBooks, are they any training aids that you would recommend for a person with an accounting background (no QuickBooks for Dummies).”

What suggestions do you have for our bookkeeper?

Welcome!

I have been a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) for some time now, and I have found that I spend most of my time helping clients with their QuickBooks problems. I thought it would be nice if there were a place where small business owners, accountants, bookkeepers, and others could come and discuss their problems. So here we are! If you have questions I will do my best to share my experience to help you. If I can't help, then no doubt some of you out there will be able to. So let the blogging begin!
